In 24 hours, 549 new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed across Australia — 532 in Victoria and 17 in New South Wales.
There were also six deaths, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer Professor Michael Kidd says with the number of cases being diagnosed, we know there will be more deaths in the days ahead.
