A Lebanese bride and her husband on Wednesday revisited the Beirut square where the shockwave from a massive explosion interrupted her bridal photoshoot.
29-year-old Israa Seblani was posing near the couple’s wedding venue when the explosion hit. The bouquet and the bottom of her dress were blown away in the aftermath of the powerful blast that shook buildings and filled the street with smoke.
“I feel so sad about what happened to the other people. About what happened to Lebanon,” Seblani said.
On Wednesday, Seblani and her husband Ahmad Subeih joined crews who were cleaning glass in front of the hotel where the couple had planned to spend their first night as newlyweds. Subeih said that when they went to retrieve their belongings from the hotel, the damage was “unbelievable.”
“We’re still in shock,” he said.
More than 100 people were killed in the explosion on Tuesday and thousands more were injured, and both numbers are expected to increase.
