The European Union is set to impose sanctions on Belarusian officials involved in the brutal crackdown on peaceful protests. Demonstrations calling for new elections have been met with police violence and mass arrests. Some five thousand protesters are still in custody. President Alexander Lukashenko has vowed to cling to power, despite mounting calls for him to go.

  1. I remember something similar with Ukraine, then some of their territory got annexed by Russia…
    I wonder if the same narrative will be used by the Kremlin xD
    We all know how this ends… Don’t we?

  2. I completely understand the pain of my belarussian brothers and sisters…here in orissa,India a guy has been ruling for past 20 years….so authoritarianism is bound to come….but I appeal them to be with nonviolence and peace…we can only win through nonviolent and peaceful protest..
