According to the newest National Hurricane Center forecast, both Tropical Storm Laura and Tropical Depression Fourteen will strengthen into hurricanes as they approach the U.S. (current predictions have Laura passing near Florida and heading into the Gulf of Mexico, while TD14 approaches Texas and Louisiana). It’s possible that for the first time in recorded history, two hurricanes will be in the Gulf of Mexico simultaneously.
