Gunfights between militants and security forces in Kashmir often lead to houses of civilians being turned to rubble. Since the 1990s, hundreds of properties have been destroyed when security forces tried to flush out militants hiding in residential areas. Some civilians say it is hard to claim damages. BBC’s Aamir Peerzada has this report from Srinagar.

  2. Two militants dead and a dozen families lives destroyed, thats not worth it to me, by those numbers I think it’s reasonable to call the fighters responsible incompetent.
