North Korea’s propaganda machine could never be accused of being ahead of the curve. But there are signs of change signalling a new, more modern approach.

Pyongyang is believed to be behind several YouTube and Twitter accounts, aimed at foreign audiences, that are promoting a benign vision of the country in a friendly video blogging style, including a recent video series in English about life in Pyongyang.

Krassi Twigg from BBC Monitoring reports.

  1. It is the UK and the United States that creates the situation in North Korea with the UK and United States barbaric practice of modern day siege warfare through sanctions and tariffs that mass murder of millions of unarmed men women and children North Koreans.

“We Lied, We Cheated, We Stole” – giggle giggle giggle” – Mike Pompeo

The corporate oligarchy media routinely regurgitates intelligence officials words as fact, even when the CIA Director admits the CIA is in the business of lying, cheating, and stealing.

Mike Pompeo spoke at Texas A&M University: “We lied, we cheated, we stole.”

Interestingly, a Christian religious news broadcaster was the only media that seemed to pick up on Pompeo’s words at the time, and described it as follows: “that’s not the resume of the Secretary of State… that’s the resume of S+t+n.”

“I was the CIA Director; we lied, we cheated we stole. We had entire training courses.” – Mike Pompeo

The former CIA Chief and now Secretary of State said the following:

“What’s the cadet motto at West Point? You will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do. I was the CIA director. We lied, we cheated, we stole. It’s — it was like — we had entire training courses. It reminds you of the glory of the American experiment.” — Texas A&M University (April 15, 2019)

Though some level of deception might be expected of spies placed in foreign settings to commit espionage, it’s interesting that Pompeo framed it in terms “the glory of the American experiment” — as if the CIA and government officials treat lying and cheating and stealing as a great American past time.

Another interesting and worrisome remark concerning Pompeo’s vision of diplomacy as Secretary of State: “Diplomacy and military strike go hand in hand,” – Mike Pompeo

  2. Propaganda is orthodox for communist country.
Especially N.Korea regime model is Stalin. Worship for the leader was taught by Stalin Russia.

  3. As they pointed out you really dont see anyone in the videos just wandering around doing normal tourist things. Everyone you see is in lines of some kind and they keep the focus on only one or two people at a time with very rare pan shots. When you do see a pan shot you can tell that they are not in a place where people are free to do stuff. Even at the dock it was surprisingly free of people.

  4. The name of the longest serving propaganda machine is BBC. It’s ironic to watch BBC clips criticizing “propaganda”. We are continuously bombarded by propaganda lies by BBC regarding a “systemic racism”, for instance. The stats are conveniently cherry-picked to fit the narrative BBC wants the proletariat to accept as the truth. According to BBC convinced criminal George Floyd was killed by a white policeman due to racial prejudice. BBC did not need facts or any proof for that. So, no I don’t think North Korea is doing anything different that these western handlers in essence. The difference is in style. The west knows that in multi racial “diverse” societies the lie that “all men and women are created equal” regardless of evolutionary biology is necessary in order to achieve “social justice” and “ harmony”. One propagandist institution is attacking another one for propaganda efforts . My favorite North Korean charge to foreigners who occasionally get in and try to preach Jesus is “the crime of spreading superstition”. 🙂 Everyone is trying to spread something.
