Joe Biden has begun work as US President Elect — picking the first members of a coronavirus taskforce which will work on tackling the pandemic.

The former US Republican President George W Bush has congratulated Mr Biden on his victory. He said the election had been “fundamentally fair and the outcome is clear”.

Donald Trump has still not accepted the result and has repeated his claims that the election was “stolen”, without providing evidence.

In his first speech since being declared the winner Mr Biden told supporters that he wants to “restore the soul” of America – and told those who didn’t vote for him that they should give each other a chance.

Mishal Husain presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Nick Bryant with the Biden campaign team in Delaware and Jon Sopel in Washington.

  1. 0:18 well what he said for black people he said if you have a problem whether if not for trump or me than you ain’t black so yeah like a typical Democrat he wants blacks mentally and emotionally enslaved and also raise taxes a lot so yeah USA will slowly turn into a communist country and more left and conservatives will be the ones to be oppressed

  2. Lots of evidence of fraud in the election, why dont the BBC do their job and investigate it and report on it. Fake news.

  3. No h isn’t President Elect at all. The only people who think that are the MSM and Democrats, but he has not been officially declared President-Elect by Supreme Court, until that happens Biden and Harris are being utterly premature.
