Trump ends Hong Kong privileges, China vows retaliation | DW News

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order ending Hong Kong’s special trade privileges. Trump also announced sanctions against officials and banks involved in Beijing’s crackdown on civil rights there. The move is part of Trump’s confronting China over Hong Kong, the South China Sea, trade and the coronavirus. Beijing meanwhile has condemned the move and says it will impose sanctions on US citizens in turn.

  3. Anybody wanna guess if the US actually asked Hong Kong the most effective way to help? Or is this just more “Ghina” bashing that will have a negative effect for China, the US, and Hong Kong?
